I am a Marriage and Family Therapist in practice at Marina Psychological Services in Marina del Rey, California, and have been licensed since 1987. I received my BA degree and teaching credential from UCLA. This was followed by a Master's degree from California State University, Northridge, in secondary education with a specialization in reading improvement. After teaching in the LA city school system, working as the Director of a reading clinic, and teaching in a Job Corps sponsored program, I returned to school and received a Master's degree in clinical psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles. In my private practice, some of my specialties include infertility and adoption, adults with ADHD, parents of children with ADHD, women's issues, mood disorders, and gay and lesbian issues.

I have appeared on national television shows discussing subjects of infertility and adoption and have been interviewed on a local cable television show on the subject of "Superwomen, Supermoms, and Stress Management." I have given lectures on these topics and have presented seminars on "Grief Surrounding Miscarriage and Infant Loss" and "Dual Career Families." A talk based on Thom Hartmann's book ADD: A Different Perception was presented to a local CHADD meeting for parents of children with ADHD. I co-authored an article on "The Role of Mental Health Counseling for Birthmothers in Independent Adoptions" which was published in the "Family Law News and Review."

In recent years I have developed an interest in and studied Mindfulness and Mindfulness Meditation and use what I have learned to enhance the work I do with clients who are interested in pursuing this as another method for dealing with their issues.
